Let’s say you have been having trouble adapting during the pandemic. Maybe things don’t look favorable for you right now, so you are feeling despair, fear, and maybe even a little sad.
Your intention is to feel better, so you start seeking relief by doing something, like going out for a walk, or you try to shift your attention, so you sit and focus on work.
But then, someone says something that upsets you. Now you are angry. But you also notice you feel less sad, you actually feel a little better.
Stop here and acknowledge this: you feel better.
This is how you move up in the emotional scale.
We would all love to live our lives in constant joy, empowerment, and gratitude. But truth is, we all move up and down the emotional scale during the day, every day. And this is alright, because we came here to experience, not to live perfect lives.
The important thing is to become aware of your inner world, so you can regain connection with you-Self and remember who you really are.
Once you consciously realize you have chosen an angry thought that brought you relief from sadness, and how this works for you and not against you, then you can consciously choose another thought that helps you move from the angry thought to a less resistant thought, such as maybe frustration, or impatience.
If you keep choosing awareness, focusing on where you would like to be, you will be able to notice if you’re going in that direction.
Maybe from impatience you can move up to optimism, then to enthusiasm, then up to happiness, and finally joy.
The more you allow instead of resist, the easier it will be in time to move up the scale, all the way back into full alignment.
Much of the uncertainty and lack of control you feel in life results from not having a clear idea of where you would like to be, so you do not know where you are headed.
If you focus on where you want to be, you believe you’re headed in that direction, and you monitor your emotions as a compass for your journey, there is no way you won’t get there.
Give me a 🙂 if you will be mindful of your emotions without loosing focus on where you’re planning to be very soon.
