Psychological Astrology
meeting your true, spiritual Self
Astrology sees humanity as being not only influenced by hereditary factors and the environment, as Psychology does, but also by the placement of the solar system at the moment of birth.
Since the beginning of time, men knew stars were important to them in some way. They felt the stars were magical, beautiful, and believed they carried some special message for humanity. Records of the study of astrology have been found in the ruins of almost every ancient civilisation, from Greece to Babylon, from China to Rome; that is why it is considered the oldest science of them all. Back then, they noted that most stars seemed to move around the sky together, but there were a few bright stars that moved quite independently of the rest. They called these "wanderers", which we now know as planets, though we still call them by their ancient names: Mars, Venus, Mercury, Jupiter and Saturn. They bear names of gods, which is what the ancient ones believed them to be. Three more planets have been discovered during the last two hundred years: Uranus, Neptune and Pluto, also names of Greek gods. They all wander around the light, a star we call Sun. And there is also the Moon, which orbits around our planet, Earth. The ancient ones believed planets were gods and so they affected people's lives. To this day, Astrology studies the effects of the movement of the Sun, Moon, planets, and asteroids in our subconscious, based on a diagram and symbols traced following our date, time, and place of birth. The ancient ones observed that when the Sun moved into a new sign each month, a new kind of energy seemed to be released, which affected life on Earth. They described these twelve different kinds of energy by the names of different animals, types of people, or objects, which seemed to influence the personality and behaviour of people, thus the name Zodiac, which means "circle of animals" in Greek. The aspects formed between these planets describe our relationships, their positions in relation to our place of birth tells us their expression in the spheres of our lives, and the interpretation of their roles, their qualities (elements, signs, and houses), talk to us about our true potential.
This is where Psychology steps in, especially Humanistic and Jungian Psychotherapy, as they consider myths to be an important part of the human being's psyche. For centuries, humans have used myths, fairy tales, and folklore, to explain life's mysteries and make them bearable. Jesus explained life using parables. Plato explained complex philosophical concepts using allegories. In Hinduism, doctos would prescribe stories on which to ponder when faced with mental illness. Myths can communicated complex paradoxes allowing us to see through confusion and life's dilemmas, taking us to the real core of the problem.
According to her studies of Gnosticism, Luciana believes we are all born with a route map, or life chart as she calls it, that helps us understand our soul's purpose, the meaning of our lives, and the dynamics of our individual and collective unconscious. Passionate about Astrology and an eternal Psychotherapy student, Luciana believes this Life Chart can be read through what she calls Psychological Astrology: this is the Chart she talks about in her sessions and classes. She also believes it cannot tell you what is going to happen, because every choice resulting in your reality is yours, and yours alone; but it can tell you about your character, your personality, your likes and dislikes, to help you understand what is going on in times of confusion. It can be a tool for empowerment, a compass in your path to enlightenment.
If you are seeking for clarity and spiritual guidance, Luciana walks with you to uncover your Soul's path, as written in the stars according to your Life Chart, during 4 sessions each month, guiding you on an inner healing journey of growth and understanding, that considers the major rites of passage in your life.
If you are seeking to deepen your understanding about Psychological Astrology to delve into your Life Chart or help others in their healing journey, live online classes are available for groups of minimum 6 maximum 12 people per term.
